Ice worth $750,000 seized from car
A MAN is due to appear in court today (Saturday) after 3kg of the prohibited drug ice – worth more than $750,000 – was allegedly found in his car on the Hume Highway at Gunning, east of Yass.
Goulburn Highway Patrol officers stopped a Hyundai Getz about 9:45pm yesterday (Friday) because of concerns about the way it was being driven, police say.
The officers became suspicious of the 32-year-old male driver and requested the presence of the Goulburn Drug Unit.
Police will allege a package containing more than 3kg of a substance, believed to be methylamphetamine (ice), was found when the car was searched.
The estimated potential street value of the drug is more than $750,000.
The man, from Sydney’s Randwick, was charged with supply large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court later today. |
