Speed factor in fatal road crash – police
A MAN injured in a serious crash in Sydney’s Villawood overnight has died in hospital.
About 8:15pm yesterday (Wednesday), a silver Nissan Skyline being driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling south on The Horsley Drive, Carramar, when it left the roadway near the intersection with Koonoona Rd.
It then crashed into a sign, a fence, then a shop, before coming to rest on its side, police say.
The 27-year-old driver and 29-year-old front-seat passenger were able to free themselves from the car, however, the 19-year-old rear passenger was trapped for a period of time before being released.
All the men were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment, where the 19-year-old died.
Police say they believe speed was a factor in the crash. |
