Woman dies after clipped car hits pole
A WOMAN has died after her car was clipped by another vehicle and careered into a telegraph pole near Newcastle last night (Thursday).
About 9.20pm, a Mitsubishi Lancer travelling west on Industrial Drive, Mayfield, was clipped in the rear by a Holden Commodore travelling in the same direction, police say.
The Lancer then left the road and struck a telegraph pole.
The 51-year-old female driver of the Lancer died at the scene.
The male driver of the Commodore was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter for mandatory blood and urine tests.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner. |
