Man’s body found in house after fire
THE body of a 58-year-old man has been found in the ruins of a house destroyed by fire in Goulburn.
Shortly before 6pm yesterday, (Monday), fire-fighters were called to a home on Goldsmith St, Goulburn, and found the premises well alight.
They discovered the man’s body in a front bedroom and called police.
The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, however, the circumstances are not deemed to be suspicious, police say.
The premises will be forensically examined, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Meanwhile, a man has escaped unscathed from a blaze badly damaged a house in house at Homebush, in Sydney’s inner west.
Fire-fighters were called shortly before midnight yesterday (Monday) to the home on Badgery Ave.
The cause is yet to be determined and the premises will be forensically examined, police say.
