Man found dead in crash vehicle
A MAN has been found dead in his vehicle after it left the Olympic Way and crashed into a tree near Wallendbeen, northeast of Cootamundra, this afternoon (Monday).
Police and emergency services were called about 1:05pm to the crash site about 5km south of Wallendbeen following reports of a crash.
It is believed a Toyota Tarago was travelling north when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man believed to be aged in his late 30s, was found deceased at the scene.
Cootamundra police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and a crime scene has been established.
Motorists are advised that the Olympic Highway traffic has been reduced to a single lane with a “stop-go” in place.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
