Rebels honcho charged
with weapons offences
A HIGH-RANKING member of the Goulburn chapter of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang has been arrested and charged after weapons were allegedly found in a car he was driving at Cowra.
Police say the 38-year-old man’s Holden Commodore with two passengers on board was pulled over by Cowra Highway Patrol officers near Camp Lane for a random breath test about 5pm on Sunday.
A tomahawk, knife and laser pointer were allegedly found during a search of the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken to Cowra Police Station where he was charged with custody of knife in public place – first offence; have custody of an offensive implement in a public place; have in custody a laser pointer in public place; and breach of bail.
Bail was refused and he was due to appear at Orange Local Court yesterday (Monday). |
