Family History Group seminar
THE Cowra Family History Group Inc will be holding a family history seminar at St John’s Anglican Church, Kendal St, this Saturday, August 18.
The seminar will run from 9am to 4:30pm.
Guest speakers include transcription agent, Laurie Turtle, who will discuss probates, deceased estates, colonial secretaries’ papers, shipping and immigration.
The Hill End Gathering Group’s Lorraine Purcell will relate the fascinating story Finding Margaret, a suicide buried in an unmarked grave in the Tambaroora Cemetery.
Ms Purcell will also discuss what can be found on the internet about someone’s life.
Bruce Robinson, well known Grenfell historian and author of Memories and Stories of the First World War, From Mudgee to the Weddin and The History of Seaton’s Farm will also address the seminar.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, but bring a packed lunch. Competitions, lucky door prizes, and giveaways.
