The good oil from the Good Service Mob
COWRA Shire Council is helping to run a free information day for the town’s Aboriginal community with the Good Service Mob next Wednesday, August 22.
The Good Service Mob is a State Government initiative aimed at offering advice to indigenous community members on consumer rights, discrimination, legal issues, and community services.

Cowra Council is continuing its support for the town’s indigenous initiatives with the services expo, says Mayor of Cowra, Bill West.
“The Cowra Indigenous Services Expo demonstrates the need for us getting information to our residents.
“This forum is timely for Cowra’s Aboriginal community following our very positive NAIDOC Week.”
Cowra Council will also host a special power-saving display for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents at the event including simple, practical advice on how to save money on electricity bills.
The Office of Environment and Heritage is also supporting the initiative which is specifically focussed on indigenous communities.
Indigenous residents are encouraged to attend the expo to learn more about the consumer services available in Cowra.
Stalls will also be available providing information about the town’s community services for Aboriginal people.
The forum begins at 10am at the Cowra Civic Centre, with lunch provided free.
