Knifepoint robbery, car torching
POLICE at Young are appealing for public assistance following the knifepoint robbery of a pizza delivery man and the torching of a car.
About 10:20pm on Thursday, a 36-year-old man delivering a pizza on Willawong St, Young, was confronted by a man armed with a knife who demanded cash.
A small sum was handed over, before the robber ran off towards Burrangong Creek.
He’s been described as being of a slim build, aged 18 to 25, wearing a white hooded jumper and dark pants.
A dark blue vehicle may be connected to the robbery, police say.
About 1am yesterday (Friday), police were called to Jim Anderson Close, Young, and found a Holden Calais sedan alight.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious.
Investigators say they do not believe the two incidents are linked, but are appealing for anyone with information about either matter to contact Young Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. |
