Elderly woman dies in three-vehicle crash
AN 84-YEAR-OLD woman has died at the scene of a three-vehicle road crash on the Princes Highway at Yallah, southwest of Wollongong, on the South Coast.
Police say two sedans and a pantec truck collided about 2:10pm yesterday (Thursday).
The truck apparently rolled numerous times before coming to a rest on a guardrail about 50m from the crash site.
The 84-year-old woman, a passenger in a Daewoo sedan, suffered extensive injuries and died at the scene, while the male driver was taken to Wollongong Hospital with leg injuries.
A man driving a Honda sedan was also taken to Wollongong Hospital where he is in a serious condition.
The male truck driver was not injured in the crash, but taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner. |
