High-calibre arms, ammo stolen from home
POLICE have launched a public appeal after five high-calibre firearms were stolen from a house at Glen Innes.
Police say they believe the theft of the guns happened some time between June 15 and Tuesday.
They were reported stolen from a Macquarie St home on Wednesday night when the homeowner discovered them missing after returning from a trip interstate.
The guns are a Weatherby Vanguard .308, Rossi .22 magnum pump-action, Howa Hogue .22 250, JW .22 firearm and Howa .223 firearm with Blackhawk grip. Ammunition was also stolen.
Police say forensic crews had examined the home for fingerprints and DNA evidence.
