RESIDENTS can take a look at Cowra Shire Council’s draft proposal for the Kendal St redevelopment at a shopfront display manned by council staff.
Mayor of Cowra, Bill West, says the shopfront is the ideal way to find out more about the CBD Traffic Management and Redevelopment Master Plan, recently approved for public exhibition by the council and how it will improve Cowra’s Kendal St business area.
“This master plan offers Cowra the opportunity to develop a civic area that is good for business, good for traffic, and safe for pedestrians; I urge everyone to drop in to our shopfront and discuss any issues of interest which they may have in regards to this proposal,” says Cr West.
Council’s staff will be available at the shopfront to answer any questions, concerns, or issues on the proposed redevelopment.
The public exhibition will be in the shopfront on the corner of Kendal and Macquarie Sts, Cowra, starting today (Tuesday, July 3) from 10am to 4pm, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for a four-week period.
“This redevelopment plan is a unique opportunity for council to redesign traffic flows and pedestrian interaction to create a more pleasant and attractive experience in our central business district,” says Cr West.
“Council staff will have display boards, plans, and 3-D modelling of the draft plan and how it is designed to improve Cowra’s streetscape in the main business area.”
The plans may also be viewed at Cowra Council Chambers in Kendal St, at Cowra Library in Darling St, and at www.cowraregion.com.au/home/?id=2468.
